Hi, my name is Justo Zarazua.
I am a retired designer and I developed the WeedGator® as an alternative to chemicals and other harsh treatments to get rid of troublesome weeds.
In designing this product, my goals were to create a product which was affordable, safe, easy to operate and environmentally friendly. After years
of design and revisions, the WeedGator® was born.
The WeedGator® is an example of American ingenuity at its best.
I researched many of the other weed control and removal systems on the market today before I created the WeedGator® and found many problems with other weed control systems and methods:
CHEMICAL-BASED CLEANERS
- Chemical cleaners are expensive.
- Chemicals can be very harmful to humans.
- Chemicals cause nutrient-rich sludge and organic plant
material to settle to the lake bottom fueling and accelerating weed re-growth.
- Fish often die after a herbicide treatment due to oxygen depletion in the water.
- The use of Aquatic chemical may not be permitted by your state's Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ).
MECHANICAL METHODS
Mechanical methods are often quite expensive and may require complicated underwater mowers and dredging equipment and the need to hire a company who specialize in aquatic weed control.
OTHER MANUAL METHODS
- Rakes often have separate attachments to cut the weeds prior to raking them to the shore.
- Rakes are often long-handled, cumbersome and heavy to lift once filled with weeds.
- Once tossed in the water, a rake often lands upside-down with the tines pointing skyward. Once upside down the tool becomes useless in performing its job and must be pulled back to shore and tossed again.
- Aquatic rakes require excessive shaking and hand removal of weeds which cling and wrap themselves around rake tines.
BIOLOGICAL METHODS
Grass carp, or white amur, can be a very effective aquatic weed control addition to a pond. The grass carp is native to the rivers of Russia and China. The species was deliberately introduced into the United States in 1963 for aquatic weed control.
- Unfortunately the Grass Carp is considered an invasive species to North America. It is illegal to transport or own Grass Carp in all but twelve U.S. states because of the threat Grass Carp have on native plant species.
Isn't it time to make your waterfront property more valuable,
more enjoyable and beautiful without the use of chemicals
or other expensive and ineffective techniques? |
